Hello and welcome to year 6 – The home of the oldest and wisest children at The Bellbird!

We are a fantastic mix of creative, kind-hearted and encouraging children who love our learning and making progress in all areas of our broad curriculum. Across the year, we will focus our learning around the following topics: The World Wars, Rivers and Mountains and The Sawston Scene.

This year, the children have the privilege of being given lots of roles and responsibilities at The Bellbird including: becoming buddies with the new children in EYFS, being monitors for a range of opportunities and even becoming House Captains for their House Team.

We will be working hard to prepare for secondary school and our SATs in May, ensuring that we enjoy all of the fantastic experiences which come along with being the oldest in the school.

At the end of the school year, to celebrate our time at The Bellbird, we head off on a residential for a few days full of fun and adventures as well as performing to our friends and family in our end of year production.

Best wishes, from the Year 6 team.

We have set the isolation home learning for year six children via Purple Mash. These activities have been set as 2Dos. These activities are only to be completed if your child is isolating due to Covid-19. There are a range of maths, English, grammar, computing and reading activities to complete. The children will also have access to maths lessons through White Rose. On the Purple Mash Sharing section (Owls and Eagles Remote Learning Blog), we have included some extra links to further grammar and art activities your child can complete if they are well enough whilst isolating.
