Reception – Wrens & Robins

Wrens & Robins

Welcome to EYFS
EYFS is an exciting start to your child’s school journey! It is a year full of new experiences, discovery and opportunities to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. Through play, exploration and carefully planned experiences, our children develop the skills and knowledge they need to become happy, confident and curious learners.
We have two EYFS classes:
  • Robins – taught by Miss Dutton, Mrs Gregory (every Monday afternoon) and Mrs Kent (every Wednesday morning)
  • Wrens – taught by Miss Osborn, Mrs Smith (every Monday afternoon) and Miss Dutton/Mrs Booth (alternative Friday afternoons)
We are also very lucky to have our wonderful TAs – Mrs Greogry, Mrs Smith, Miss Vyse, Mrs Irwin, Mrs McLaren.
Mr Pauley teaches our PE session on a Monday. Physical development is also supported daily through active play and outdoor learning.
Our children also take part in Forest School every other Friday afternoon taught by Mrs Booth. This provides opportunities to explore the natural environment, develop independence and resilience, and learn through hands-on experiences outdoors. Children can come in their Forest School clothing each Friday.
Throughout the year, we will explore a range of exciting topics, including space, knights and under the sea.
Please see our termly overviews below for more information about your child’s learning.
