Working together to make The Bellbird even better

At The Bellbird Primary School, we greatly value the views, experiences and ideas of our parents and carers. Our Parent Forum provides an important opportunity for parents to have a voice in the continued development of our school.

Each class is invited to have a Parent Forum representative. Representatives gather feedback, ideas and questions from other parents and carers in their class and meet with James Puxley, Headteacher, on a termly basis. These meetings provide an open and constructive opportunity to discuss different aspects of school life, celebrate what is working well and consider where we can make further improvements.

During 2025-26, the Parent Forum contributed to discussions on a wide range of areas, including our new Behaviour Policy and approach to behaviour, school clubs and extracurricular opportunities, school catering, our approach to mixing classes, how the school responded to periods of extreme heat, opportunities for parent working parties, and many other aspects of school life and much more.

The Forum is not intended to discuss individual children or individual concerns; these should always be raised directly with the appropriate member of staff. Instead, it provides an opportunity to identify themes and consider the wider parent perspective so that this can help inform school development and decision-making.

We are very grateful to the parents who give their time to represent their classes. Their feedback helps us to understand what matters to our families and strengthens the partnership between home and school.
