Year 1 – Wagtails & Sparrows
Year 1 is a big year as children move from EYFS to become part of KS1. It is a challenging year because it is the first year of the National Curriculum and the children learn to work independently in maths and English. We continue to use continuous provision throughout our foundation subjects in the afternoons.
We have two Year 1 classes:
Sparrows – taught by Mrs Rix
Wagtails – taught by Mrs Booth
Mr Pauley, Mrs Irwin and Miss Vyse cover PPA time on Mondays and Friday afternoons. We have wonderful TAs, Mrs Irwin, Mrs McLaren, Mrs Day and Mrs Simons supporting our children.
